Due to the busy year ahead, this upcoming year I will only be offering the PADI Mermaid Instructor course and the bundle from zero to mermaid hero (PADI Mermaid + PADI Advanced Mermaid + PADI Mermaid Instructor + EFR) for those who are interested in becoming a PADI Pro as a professional mermaid teaching the PADI Mermaid Program. As a PADI Mermaid Instructor Trainer, I truly enjoy making new PADI Mermaid Instructors and taking them through this in-depth (pun intended) course on how to be great teachers, get their courses ready to go, advising on marketing, setting them up with equipment, and help them set sail confidently into their new business venture. What is PADI?
What is PADI you ask? PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) is the world's largest and most prestigious recreational diving training organization. Since the 1960s, PADI has developed in-depth educational programs for scuba diving, freediving, and now, mermaiding among other diving specialties.
Being a PADI Pro or Instructor means becoming a PADI member and having the support of PADI Regional Managers and access to extensive training material for those who want to teach diving courses while representing this prestigious organization. It also means you can make an income by certifying students as PADI Mermaids under the organization.
Ever wanted to become a professional mermaid? Ever wanted to have a mermaid school? Ever wanted to swim in the ocean and create a pod of skilled mermaids? Becoming a PADI Mermaid Instructor is a fin-tastic way of achieving that!
Location! Location! Location!
My PADI Mermaid Instructor courses and photoshoots will be held in Dania Beach/Fort Lauderdale, the shore dive capital of the world, just 10 minutes from the Fort Lauderdale Airport at a beautiful location with complimentary valet parking, easy lodging and great diving. So easy for those who are local to South Florida or traveling by road or plane.
Who qualifies?
All PADI Mermaid Instructor candidates must be proficient swimmers but if you don't have any previous mermaid experience, don't worry! I have an option for you.
These are the PADI Mermaid Instructor Prerequisites:
-Must be 18 years old
-Must be certified PADI Advanced Mermaid or proof of mermaid diving experience with 15 mermaid diving sessions including 3 or more open water mermaid sessions
-Must be EFR (Emergency First Response) certified or have a qualifying certification within the last 24 months
-Provide a current medical form or statement signed by a physician within the previous 12 months
Training Requirements:
-Complete PADI Mermaid Instructor Course with a PADI Mermaid Instructor Trainer (me!)
-Pass the Mermaid Instructor Exam with a score of at least 75 percent.
But what if you don't have these pre-requisites and are new to the PADI Mermaid Program? Let us take you through a fin-tastic week of PADI Education and make your dream come true certifying you in all the pre-requisites above.
How much money can you make?
The PADI Mermaid Instructor course is for qualified individuals who are looking to teach the PADI Mermaid Program at a dive center or start their own mermaid business as PADI Mermaid Instructor teaching in both confined and open water. This program will prepare you to become a PADI Pro, with PADI Standard guidelines, course curriculum, marketing, gear and many other tools to ensure success teaching the PADI Mermaid courses.
You would be able to teach PADI Discover Mermaid, PADI Basic Mermaid, PADI Mermaid and PADI Advanced Mermaid. You can also partner with me and together teach the PADI Basic Mermaid Instructor course. You could make anywhere from $100-800 per student depending on the courses! The course will also take you through understanding each course, how to price yourself in reference to your location, accessibility, demand, and I also cover marketing to help you understand your options in advertising your courses.
How much is the PADI Mermaid Instructor course?
So let's get down to business! How much is your investment? Course rates vary! Take a look here for my current rates. I currently have 2 options: the PADI Mermaid Instructor course alone for those who already meet the pre-requisites; and the PADI Mermaid Instructor course bundle that covers all the pre-requisites and the course.
We also have a content creation packages with land photography and underwater photography for a head start in marketing the courses.
